เอ แล้วโอโซนหายไปไหน

เล่าเรื่องมาก็หลายวันแล้ว ลืมไปว่า อาจมีหลายๆคนสงสัยว่า แล้วเจ้าโอโซนหายไปไหนกันหรอ เราถึงต้องออกมาช่วยกันรณรงค์เพื่อให้ทุกๆคนช่วยกันอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของเราเอาไว้ 

จริงๆแล้ว (ก็มันจริงๆนี่นา) โอโซน ที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นเกราะกำบังโลกในท้องฟ้าเบื้องบน ถูกทำลายลงด้วยน้ำมือของพวกเราเองโดยไม่รู้ตัว ทั้งนี้เมื่อเราใช้สารเคมีนานาชนิดที่มีส่วนประกอบของคลอรีนและโบรมีน เช่นสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) สารเฮลอน สารเมทิลโบรไมด์ (Methyl Bromide) สารเมทิลคลอโรฟอร์ม (Methyl Chloroform) ซึ่งเราเรียกสารเหล่านี้ว่า สารทำลายชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซน เป็นต้น

เมื่อมีการใช้หรือเกิดการรั่วไหล สารเหล่านี้จะลอยตัวขึ้นสู่ชั้นบรรยากาศสตราโทสเฟียร์ เมื่อไปกระทบกับแสงอาทิตย์แล้วจะสลายตัว เกิดเป็นอะตอมคลอรีนและ/หรือโบรมีนอิสระ ซึ่งอะตอมของคลอรีน/โบรมีนจะเข้าทำลายโมเลกุลของโอโซน จนกลายเป็นรูรั่วโอโซน อย่างที่เราๆทราาบกันดี ซึ่งไม่สามารถกรองรังสีชนิดต่างๆได้โดยเฉพาะรังสียูวีบีที่เป็นอันตรายต่อสิ่งมีชีวิตบนโลกได้อีกต่อไป

แล้วเราจะช่วยกันรับผิดชอบโอโซนของโลกเราได้อย่างไร (4)

ความเดิมตอนที่แล้วจำได้เราเคยรักกัน เอ้ย ไม่ใช่ๆ จากวันก่อนๆที่ผมได้พูดถึงเรื่องวิธีการต่างๆในการช่วยกันรับผิดชอบโอโซนของโลกเรา วันนี้ก็มีอีกเรื่องที่ถือว่าใกล้ๆตัว (บางคน) มากๆ เรื่องที่ว่านั้นก็คือ 

วิธีที่ห้า เกี่ยวกับยาสูดพ่นแบบปลอดสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs)

สำหรับในทางการแพทย์แล้ว สารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) เป็นส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญในยาสูดพ่น ชนิดที่ใช้ก๊าซเป็นตัวขับเคลื่อน ทั้งยาประเภทขยายหลอดลม และยาสเตียรอยด์ มีชื่อเรียกกันว่า MDI (Metered-dose Inhaler) ซึ่งสำหรับผู้ป่วยโรคหอบหืดและโรคปอดอุดกั้นเรื้อรังแล้ว ยาในรูปแบบนี้มีใช้กันมาอย่างยาวนาน มีประสิทธิภาพดี และที่สำคัญคือ ราคาถูก ถึงแม้ว่าจะมียาสูดพ่นในรูปแบบอื่นๆ บ้างก็ตาม เช่น ในรูปแบบแผงแห้ง แต่ก็ไม่ได้รับความนิยมเท่ากับยาในรูปแบบ MDI 
 
อย่างไรก็ตามเนื่องจากภยันตรายจากสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) มีมาก และรุนแรง ทำให้ทั่วโลกมีความพยายามที่จะเปลี่ยนแปลงการใช้สารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) ใน MDI ไปเป็นสารตัวอื่นแทน จนกระทั่ง ปัจจุบันได้มีการวิจัยและพัฒนา จนค้นพบว่า Hydrofluoralkane (HFA) ทั้งชนิด HFA-134a และ HFA-277 สามารถนำมาใช้แทนสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) ในยาขยายหลอดลม และยาป้องกันหอบที่เป็นสเตียรอยด์แบบ MDI โดยที่ยานี้ได้รับการรับรองว่าปลอดภัย ประสิทธิภาพดี และปัจจุบันได้เริ่มนำเข้ามาจำหน่ายในประเทศไทยของเราเรียบร้อยแล้ว
 

แล้วเราจะช่วยกันรับผิดชอบโอโซนของโลกเราได้อย่างไร (3)

จากที่ได้เกริ่นไว้เมื่อวาน วันนี้เรามาว่ากันต่อถึงวิถีทางที่จะช่วยกันดูแล อนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของเรา 

วิธีที่สี่ เกี่ยวกับอุตสาหกรรมการเกษตร

ตามที่เคยแจ้งไว้ก่อนหน้านี้่แล้วว่า สารเมทิลโบรไมด์ (Methyl Bromide) เป็นสารรมที่ใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลายในการกำจัดแมลงศัตรูพืชหลังการเก็บเกี่ยว แมลงศัตรูพืชในโรงเก็บสินค้า งานด้านกักกันพืชเพื่อกำจัดศัตรูพืชที่ติดมากับพืชนำเข้า และยังได้มีการนำมาใช้รมดิน (Soil Fumigation) เพื่อกำจัดไส้เดือนฝอย แมลง เมล็ดวัชพืช และเชื้อโรคพืชบางชนิด ก่อนการเพาะปลูกพืช มีศักยภาพในการทำลายชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซน 0.6 เท่าของสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs)

แล้วจะมีสารใดบ้างที่สามารถนำมาทดแทนสารเมทิลโบรไมด์ตัวนี้ได้ ขอบอกว่ามีเยอะเลยครับ โดยเราจะแบ่งเทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนออกเป็น 2 ประเภท ตามชนิดของพืช อันได้แ่ก่

1. เทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนสารเมทิลโบรไมด์ (Methyl Bromide) ในสินค้าแห้ง (Durable Commodities) เช่น ข้าว แป้ง มันสำปะหลัง และข้าวโพด เป็นต้น

- การใช้ความร้อน (Heat Treatment) มักใช้ในอุณหภูมิระหว่าง 50-70 องศาเซลเซียส จากนั้นก็ทำให้เย็นลงเพื่อเป็นการลดความเสียหายที่อาจเกิดขึ้นกับตัวสินค้าได้

- การใช้ความเย็น (Cold Treatment) 

- การทำให้เย็นจนแข็ง (Freezing)

- การฉายแสง หรือ ฉายรังสี (Irradiation) 

- การใช้สารฟอสฟีน (Phosphine)

- การใช้คาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ (Carbondioxide) หรือไนโตรเจน (Nitrogen) ในการควบคุมระดับก๊าซออกซิเจน (Controlled and Modifies Atmosphere)

- การใช้ฟอสฟีน ร่วมกับคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ หรือไนโตรเจน

- การใช้สารเคมี เช่น ซัลฟูริลฟลูออไรด์ (Sulfuryl Fluoride) เอทิลฟอร์เมท (Ethyl Formate) เอทิลีน ออกไซด์ (Ethylene Oxide) และคาร์บอนไบซัลไฟด์ (Carbon Bisulfide)

- การใช้ยาฆ่าแมลง (Insecticides) ประเภทสารประกอบออร์กาโนฟอสฟอรัส (Organophosphorous)

- การใช้สารฟีโรโมน (Pheromones)

2. เทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนสารเมทิลโบรไมด์ (Methyl Bromide) ในสินค้าสด (Perishable Commodities) เช่น ผัก ผลไม้ และดอกไม้ เป็นต้น

- การใช้ความเย็น (Cold Treatment) ที่อุณหภูมิ -1 ถึง +2 องศาเซลเซียส

- การใช้ความร้อน (Heat Treatment) โดยให้ความชื้น หรือลมร้อนที่อุณหภูมิ 40-50 องศาเซลเซียส

- การใช้คาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ (Carbondioxide) และไนโตรเจน (Nitrogen) แทนที่บรรยากาศแบบปกติ หรือ แทนที่ออกซิเจน (Controlled Atmosphere)

- การฉายแสง หรือ ฉายรังสี (Irradiation) 

- การใช้สารซัลเฟอร์ไดออกไซด์ (Sulfur Dioxide)

- การจุ่มในสารเคมี (Chemical Dips) เช่น ยาฆ่าแมลง (Pesticide) อย่างเจือจาง

วันนี้อาจจะหนักไปแนววิชาการหน่อยนะครับ ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องที่ฝ่ายผู้ประกอบทั้งในภาคเกษตรกรรมและอุตสาหกรรมที่มีจิตสำนึกในการอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของโลกเรา จะต้องตระหนักอย่างถ่องแท้  และให้ความร่วมมือในการหลีกเลี่ยงการใช้สารเมทิลโบรไมด์ และหันไปใช้สารทดแทนตามที่กล่าวไว้ข้างต้นครับ ช่วยกันคนละเล็กคนละน้อย ไม่ช้าการอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของโลกเราก็จะบังเกิดผล

แล้วเราจะช่วยกันรับผิดชอบโอโซนของโลกเราได้อย่างไร (2)

มาว่ากันต่อ เกี่ยวกับวิธีการต่างๆที่เราทุกคนสามารถช่วยกันรับผิดชอบ ในการอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนนะครับ

วิธีที่สาม เกี่ยวกับอุปกรณ์ดับเพลิง 

เป็นที่ทราบกันดีอยู่แล้วว่า สารเฮลอน (Halons) เป็นสารดับเพลิงที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูง ไม่มีสี ไม่มีกลิ่น ไม่เป็นพิษต่อผู้ใช้ ทั้งยังไม่ทิ้งคราบตกค้างหลังการใช้งาน แต่ว่ามันเป็นสารตัวร้ายที่ทำลายชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูงมากทีเดียว โดยที่สารเฮลอน แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเภทหลักๆคือ

1. เฮลอน 1211 (Halon 1211) นิยมใช้ในเครื่องดับเพลิงชนิดเคลื่อนที่ได้ (Portable) มีศักยภาพในการทำลายชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนมากกว่าสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) ถึง 3 เท่า

2. เฮลอน 1301 (Halon 1301) นิยมใช้ในระบบดับเพลิงชนิดติดตั้งถาวร (Fixed System) แต่รายนี้หนักกว่าครับ เพราะมันมีศักยภาพในการทำลายชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซน มากกว่าสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) ถึง 10 เท่าเลยทีเดียว แสบจริงๆ

เมื่อเรารู้ความร้ายกาจของสารเฮลอนแล้ว เราจะมีเทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆอย่างอื่นที่ใช้ทดแทนสารเฮลอนหรือเปล่าหละ คำตอบคือ มีสิครับ (ถามได้ แหะๆ)  โดยเราได้แบ่งเทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนตามชนิดของสารเฮลอนทั้งสองแบบ ตามนี้ครับ

เทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนสารเฮลอน 1211

- ผงเคมีแห้ง (Dry Chemical) สามารถดับเพลิงได้ทั้งระดับ A, B, C ทั้งยังมีราคาถูกมากเมื่อเทียบกับสารดับเพลิงชนิดอื่นๆ เสียอย่างเดียวมันจะเกิดคราบตกค้างหลังการใช้งานเท่านั้นเอง

- คาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ ก๊าซตัวนี้เป็นพิษต่อระบบการหายใจของมนุษย์เรา หากใช้ดับเพลิงในสถานที่ที่มีพื้นที่จำกัดและอากาศถ่ายเทไม่สะดวกละก็ อาจทำให้ผู้ใช้หมดสติได้ จึงเหมาะสมกับการใช้ดับเพลิงในที่โล่งแจ้งหรืออากาศถ่ายเทได้สะดวก และใช้ดับเพลิงในวัสดุที่เกี่ยวกับไฟฟ้า เนื่องจากก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ไม่เป็นสื่อนำไฟฟ้า

- โฟมน้ำ อาจไม่เหมาะกับการดับเพลิงที่เกี่ยวข้องกับระบบไฟฟ้าโดยเด็ดขาด เนื่องจากโฟมเป็นสื่อนำกระแสไฟฟ้าชั้นดี ที่อาจเป็นอันตรายถึงชีวิตได้

เทคโนโลยีสารทดแทนสารเฮลอน 1301


- สาร FM 200 สารตัวนี้เป็นสารทดแทนที่มีประสิทธิภาพใกล้เคียงกับสารเฮลอนค่อนข้างมาก แต่จะมีกลิ่นเหม็นหลังการใช้งาน

- เทคโนโลยีละอองน้ำ ระบบละอองน้ำเป็นเทคโนโลยีที่น่าสนใจมาก เนื่องจากไม่มีผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม สามารถระงับเปลวเพลิงพร้อมกันได้ถึง 3 ทิศทาง

เดี๋ยวพรุ่งนี้เราค่อยมาว่ากันต่อภาค 3 นะครับ ยังมีวิธีการอีกหลากหลาย มากมายที่เราสามารถช่วยกันเพื่ออนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของเราได้ โปรดอดใจรอนะครับ

แล้วเราจะช่วยกันรับผิดชอบโอโซนของโลกเราได้อย่างไร

ผมเชื่อว่าถึงตอนนี้หลายๆคน ก็อยากมีส่วนร่วมในการอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซน แต่ก็อาจยังนึกไม่ออกว่าตัวเองต้องทำอย่างไรบ้าง พอดีเลยครับ ผมขอเสนอแนวทางปฏิบัติง่ายๆ ที่หลายๆคนอาจนึกไม่ถึง 

วิธีแรก เกี่ยวกับระบบปรับอากาศรถยนต์

วิถีชีวิตคนเมืองส่วนใหญ่ผูกพันอยู่กับรถยนต์ ซึ่งเป็นพาหนะหลักในการเดินทาง และการคมนาคมขนส่ง ผลเสียโดยตรงที่ตามมาอันเกิดการใช้รถยนต์เป็นจำนวนมาก คงหนีไม่พ้นเรื่องการก่อมลภาวะ ไอเสียจากรถยนต์ก่อผลด้านลบต่อสภาพแวดล้อม ต่อโลกอย่างมหันต์ แล้วเราจะมีวิธีการรักษาชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับรถยนต์ได้อย่างไร จริงๆแล้วมันมีหลากหลายวิธีครับ อันได้แก่


- เลือกใช้น้ำยาแอร์ให้ถูกประเภท จะช่วยยืดอายุการใช้งานของระบบปรับอากาศรถยนต์ของคุณให้ยาวนานยิ่งขึ้น

- สำหรับรถยนต์ที่ผลิตก่อนปี พ.ศ. 2538 ให้ใช้น้ำยาแอร์ R-12 (CFC-12)


- สำหรับรถยนต์ที่ผลิตตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2538 เป็นต้นไป ให้ใช้น้ำยาแอร์ R-134a (HFC-134a) 


- หมั่นตรวจเช็คระบบปรับอากาศรถยนต์ของคุณเป็นประจำทุกๆ 6 เดือน เพื่อเป็นการป้องกันการรั่วไหลของน้ำยาแอร์จากระบบ


- เลือกใช้บริการร้าน/ศูนย์บริการที่ได้มาตรฐาน


- เลือกรับบริการกับร้าน/ศูนย์บริการที่มีเครื่องกักเก็บและฟื้นฟูสภาพน้ำยาแอร์ ทั้งนี้เพื่อเป็นการป้องกันการรั่วไหลของสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) สู่ชั้นบรรยากาศ

วิธีที่สอง เกี่ยวกับตู้เย็น/ตู้แช่สินค้า

คงปฎิเสธไม่ได้ว่า แทบทุกบ้าน (ที่มีไฟฟ้าใช้ แหะๆ) จะต้องมีตู้เย็นไว้ประจำบ้าน รวมทั้งเราจะพบเห็นตู้แช่สินค้ารูปแบบต่างๆ มากมาย ตามร้านขายของชำ supermarket และร้านค้าปลีกขนาดใหญ่ที่ตอนนี้กำลังผุดไปทั่วเมือง แล้วเราจะมีวิธีเลือกสินค้ากลุ่มดังกล่าวอย่างไร ถึงจะเป็นการช่วยอนุรักษ์ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซนของโลกเราได้

- เลือกใช้ตู้เย็น/ตู้แช่สินค้าที่ไม่ใช้สารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) เป็นสารทำความเย็น โดยเราสามารถสังเกตได้ง่ายๆจากสัญลักษณ์ CFCs Free หรือ Ozone Friendly ที่ผลิตภัณฑ์ หรือสอบถามจากพนักงานขายโดยตรง ก่อนจะสั่งซื้อ


- หรือถ้าหากสั่งสินค้าดังกล่าวมาแล้ว และพบว่าใช้สารทำความเย็น R-12 (CFC-12) อยู่ก่อนแล้ว ให้หมั่นตรวจเช็คอยู่เสมอ เพื่อป้องกันการรั่วไหลของสารซีเอฟซี (CFCs) สู่ชั้นบรรยากาศโอโซน
